Learing At P.I.S.

Education at Prudential International School (PIS) is a harmonious balance between academic guidance, creative expression and inner growth, to develop the highest potential in every child. Based on a synthesis of the Nigerian-British Curriculum, Montessori methods and Neo-Humanist principles, our curriculum provides varied activities that allow for self-directed learning. Our holistic approach nurtures the all-round development of the child: body, senses, emotion, intellect, creativity and spiritual awareness. PIS provide places to only 80 Children and an average class size of maximum 14 Pupils.

At PIS, we educate children from age 2 to 11 Years, covering the Early Years (Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.) and Primary Years (Phase 1 and Phase 2).

Early Years (3-5 year olds)

The Early Years at Prudential International School (PIS) promotes teaching and learning to ensure children‟s „school readiness‟ and provides the children with a broad range of skills and knowledge that ensure the right foundation for good future progress through school and life.

“Children are born ready, able and eager to learn”.

There are three prime areas of learning, these areas are crucial for developing children’s enthusiasm and curiosity. There are four specific areas, through which the three prime areas are strengthened. The children will learn through a mix of adult-lead and child initiated activities.

Prime Areas

  • Personal social and Emotional Development.
  • Physical Development
  • Communication and Language

 Specific Areas

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive art and design

The outdoor environment is a vital and continuous part of the Early Years curriculum. As such it is carefully planned for and available each day to the children.

The Early Years is about developing key learning skills such as listening, speaking, concentrating, persistence and learning to work and cooperate with others.
